It has officially began. The Chase is on and I am in last place. Not sure how this happened but let me explain. After the first 26 races, I was leading the points between myself, Brian, and my dad in out little Fantasy Nascar game. However, when we reset the points for the Chase, indeed I some how ended up in last place. Go figure. Whoever set these rules, Brian who is now in first, did a horrible job. Can we say...UNFAIR!
Now that my little rant is over, the first race of the Chase is over and for this week I picked Denny. Come on Denny!!! You were supposed to do better than this. Needless to say, Denny got me nada with points. Dad picked Johnson and Brian picked Gordon and of course they did well. So with that said, I am officially last in the Chase as we speak. I will have the actually points as soon as NASCAR makes them official.
What I can't wait to see is the new number Jr. is going to be sporting next season. I pray, oh how I pray, that it has an 8 in it somewhere! I realize that the numbers don't make the drivers, but come on you die-hard NASCAR fans, you know you would stick by that drivers number in life and death! I guess we will see soon won't we.
The Race for the Chase

Dale Jr. blew another engine after doing so well. It is not looking good for JuneBug this season. Maybe he can pull something together and get in the Chase.
And I daubt that anyone will ever forget the fight between Pablo and Harvick. Can't wait to see what comes out of this one!
Not a very exciting weekend for racing, I didn't thin, besides a little feud that was probably overdue.

Big time NASCAR news:
Kyle Busch lost his ride to Dale Jr, as we all know, and I wasn't too thrilled with. Well, Kyle has now found a home at Gibbs Racing. He will driving the 18 and who knows where poor JJ Yelley will be going. Maybe he will find a home in that old number 8 with DEI, as bad as I would hate it.
At any rate...the points are closing in and we are biting necks to get to the top, right??? Only five more races till we reseed the points and go into the Chase.
Rants about the Weekend
It was not a weekend full of excitement but I guess I did get to rest. I spent Sunday doing a whole lot of nothing. I spent the morning at the beach and then Brian got this big idea to teach me how to play Baseball on the PlayStation. I was alright at it I guess. I lost my first game though, but only by 1.
The biggest news I guess is that:
I PASSED BRIAN IN POINTS IN NASCAR TODAY.
Kyle Busch finally pulled something out in the last part of the race and brought me a pretty good finish. I know I finished a couple of spots ahead of Dad too but I don't think I was able to gain enough on him. It wouldn't matter except there are big things at stake here...free tickets to the Coca-Cola 600 in May. BIG TIME!
But for now, lets talk about Jr. He had a Second Place finish! Top 5 in a very long time. Heck, top 10 in about a month. It wasn't good enough to keep him in the Chase. He sits less than 10 points behind Kurt Busch. Jr. and his team has been showing great improvements over the past few races. Let's hope he can keep it up.
I will have the points up soon!
Another day to keep in the record books: A double whammy
Barry Bonds tied Hank Aaron for all time HR record
A-Rod hit his 500th HR.
I guess it would be a lot memorable if Bonds wasn't in the middle of a huge Roid scandal and A-Rod wasn't part of the most conceited team in the league. What makes it even better is that the commissioner isn't going to Bonds' games and isn't going to shake his hand, let along congratulate him. I think this is a bit extreme. After all, he hasn't been proven guilty yet.
On the other sports side, Hawaii Warrior Football is actually ranked for the season! First time in I don't know how long. This is pretty exciting...ranked and a Heisman candidate. Colt Brennen has really proved himself in WAC football. We will see how it goes, we just got our tickets to the first game of the season-HI verses Northern Colorado.

Ole Pablo did good things for me this weekend. I will pull for the Columbian any day as long as he can pull me out of my rut.
Things didn't go so well for Dad. Poor Kasey hit that wall 90 miles an hour and was done for.
Casey Mears didn't do that well either and left Brian out to dry.
I can feel it. This last week was my milestone. I am going to whoop butt from here right to the end, well as least to the Chase :) Just you wait and see.
