Mojo Monday Challenge

Awww...as soon as I read this week's Ways to Use It Challenge at SCS I thought there was no way I could join because I have nothing in any shade of grey. But wait, I remembered a pack of designer paper I received in a grab bag and behold, a piece of grey! There is a stampin god :) I also wanted to use Julee's Mojo Monday sketch challenge as I haven't gotten a chance to play with her sketches. If you haven't visited her blog, you should head over and check out her amazing work!

Since I despise dark colors (can't you tell) I had to use bright paper with a fun theme. Thus, Luv U was born. My base is 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" piece of basic grey folded in half. I then cut a piece of designer paper from Paperbilities Vacation Pack that measures 4" x 3" and I scalloped the bottom with a pair of Provo Craft Paper Shapers Scissors. The next layer is a 2 1/2" square piece of brown and I distressed three of the edges and scalloped the bottom edge. For the main stamped image I used a 3 1/2" x 2 3/4" piece of basic green mounted on a 1/4" larger peice of Paperbilities stripped paper from the Vacation Paper Pack. I used my corner rounder and scalloped the edges of the bottom and top layers and then used a black marker to draw faux stitching around the basic green. I used a simple foam alphabet from Wal-Mart to stamp the focus, Luv U in Archival teal.

I mounted all of these peices on my card base and then wrapped a red ribbon around the bottom. I placed a large brown semi-circled that I distressed on the bottom right under my main layer. I cut a piece of Paperbilities and rounded the edges then layered a piece of basic blue. I used a gel pen to write So Much and mounted that on the bottom left. Lastly I used my jumbo circle punch with basic green, folded those circles in half and then used small brads to attach to the left side of the brown layer to add some color.

I think that has it. There were so many layers and things to doing on with this card that it was pretty complicated for me to visualize. I think it turned out well though :)

Lesson learned during this stampin session: I need to buy more stamps!
